Joan Katambi
Joan Katambi is an Enterprising professional with passion in Information Communications Technology (ICT), Internet governance, Information Security, Cyber Security and Digital Human Rights. Joan has led Digital Literacy Initiative since its inception in 2018 laying the roadmap and foundation for Digital Literacy Initiative’s governance and leadership. Joan actively works towards and advocates for greater digital inclusion in Africa particularly for women, girls and youth. She is a member of the Internet Society Global and the Uganda Chapter and she is also a member of the ICT Association of Uganda.
As an the International Computer Driving License (ICDL) trainer, Joan has always been part of the Digitize Uganda Project that takes place in Uganda in partnership with ICDL Africa a foundation that recognises the importance of digital literacy and ICT skills as the urgent need for a more coordinated and effective action in driving Economic Development across Uganda and Africa.
Joan is a lifelong volunteer and an active member of Rotary International where she serves in the Rotary Club of Mukono Central (Uganda) and has participated in community projects in the areas of Education and Mentorship programmes.
Joan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology and Computing from Kyambogo University. Joan also holds a Certificate in National Information Security Policy course and Certificate in Information Security Technical Course from Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA).
